Sea Bed Anomaly Diving Inspection Survey
DDJV requested DISA to perform a general visual inspection of several debris and potential wreck locations which were identified earlier using multibeam survey. DISA supplied the surface supplied air diving equipment, diver positioning, personnel, inshore diving platform and safety standby vessel. After thorough preparations, the team worked daily in a twelve hour shift (daylight operations) at maximum 23 meter water depth, all in close communication with DIAP and MPA, in accordance with MPA regulations.
The diving project had an extra challenge to carry out safe diving operations amidst the vessel traffic of tankers and large crude vessels passing by. Comprehensive communications procedures and planning were drafted and, after mutual consent, used by all parties involved.
All requested objects were found and identified with a comprehensive report submitted to the client.
